Summer 1942, The Eastern Front.
Its a time for rebuilding of the Soviet army. Many of the factories of the Soviet Union are in the process of relocating behind the Urals. This was the largest and most speedy evacuation in human history - just thing - this is like moving many factories and their personnel from London to Iceland - its that far. They did it and stepped up production. An amazing feat for the peoples of the Soviet Union. This does mean that there was adrop in production, and its at this time that the German army enjoys a superiority of tanks over the Soviets. This will not occur again.
However this Monday our battle concentrates on a collective farm ./ village in the Don Basin. It's important because it sits atop the important rail and road junction that leads to Orel. Both armies will be contesting it - who will win? We shall see on Monday!
Last Monday's game was interesting - a trial with the new Russian and Japanese fleets for Tshuima - we've fought this before but this time its using much sall scale ships. Richard just edged it, inflicting more damage on the Japanese than was received. Unusually Peter threw some very poor dice which was painful although amusing for me ha ha. Mind you, no doubt his lucky dice will be back next week!
