Hello all As you'll know from my post in the for sale / wanted section, I've been thinking of putting together a small starter army for Warmachine and giving it a go. Lo and behold the following appeared after my ordering them on the interwebs: A Cryx Battlegroup set: A mini rule book: So I'm now going to set about painting these and getting them to the table. I'm going to try to record progress here as I think it will be fun. My progress may be slow however - this is the last weekend I can do any hobby stuff for a few weeks! I know Stephen has offered me a game (yay!) does anyone else want to join in learning this game? Chris Edit: just to clarify- clearly I'm not planning on painting the rulebook!

Just thinking about how I'm going to paint these. It will need to be a quick and easy paint job that still looks good. I think I'm going to follow the look and method I used for my Blood Angels Death Company a long time ago - black undercoat and then simple sparse highlighting to give a kind of cell shaded cartoony effect. I've dug out and dusted off my Blood Angels from the spare room so you can see the style I'm going for I'm going to go for the black undercoat, grey highlighting and then some bright green on weapons and white on the bone areas. Will try some dead grass and sand for bases. But first up I need to stick these. It looks like these are a kind of restic rather than normal hard plastic so I'm guessing I ought to give them a good wash first before sticking and undercoat. I'm going to need some entertainment in the background I think for this. Maybe some classic Man from UNCLE. "Open channel D!"

All stuck! Apart from a spear needing the hot water treatment and some legs which didn't fit very well that was fairly straightforward Onwards to undercoating them - hopefully tomorrow They will also need names!
