This is very promising - a new simplified free ruleset is coming:

I will follow this with interest if it means I can use my painted space marines with a modern rule set without spending a huge amount of cash on said rules!

There are tons of cheap/free rulesets you can use them with, you don't need to wait for GW to try & entice you back to the fold ;-)
