Anyone available for a test of the new 8th edition rules? We can try any of the new game options: open play, scenarios or matched play. Any option is fine because it will just be fun to be at the club; pushing some minis about on the table top with a beer in hand and some good company. I have the following 8th edition books which I will bring along: - core rulebook
- Chaos index (includes the various subfactions)
- Xenos 2 index (Orks, Tau, Tyranids & Genestealer cult)
I have minis for Khorne Daemons, Tau and Tyranids, about 2,000 points' worth in 6th edition points values. It may be worth using modestly sized forces to begin with though. All my Khorne/ 'nid minis are melee units so I will probably field Tau purely for the opportunity to participate in more of the turn phases. In the case of the melee "fight" phase though, Tau participation will probably be involuntary! It will also be interesting to see how severely the end of the move-shoot-move rule for battlesuits affects the Tau.

Hi Mike Long time no see - welcome back I'm already set for a 40k game on Monday I'm afraid but hopefully one of the other many club members with 40k armies at the back of the cupboard might be tempted to dust them off!? (Free rules here btw: www.warhammerdigital.com/Downloads/Product/PDF/rules/Warhammer-40k-Battle-Primer-English.pdf)If not, Morgan and I were planning a small learning game in any case so we might be able to round robin and swap you in afterwards if we finish in time. See you on Monday Chris

Thanks Chris, let's see how it goes; although if I don't get a game I can always spend some time catching up with folks and finding out what's going on these days.
