Yes!
I returned to the club last night.
Was an excellent evening playing X Wing with Peter and Ove, Matt and Clive were playing some sort of game which i was too arrogant to ask about.
Now the North End Club is certainly up and running with hand sanitiser all over the place, so all is good.
Peter and I will be there next week playing Russia v Japan battleships which will be excellent as always. If you are free next Monday, do come along and join in.
Hope to see you all soon!

Ah-ha! Update on Monday's game!
As usual i took control of a portion of the Russian fleet. Two elderly 2nd rate battleships - smaller, slower but with powerful guns these powerful ships made their way across the table. Accompanied by 3 escorts i was confident.
Peter took charge of the Imperial Japanese fleet using 10 of the cruisers of the Japanese fleet. A mixed bag of modern armoured cruisers and older protected cruisers and light cruisers; his job was to stop the Russians from leaving the table.
How did we get on?
The Japanse ships - faster and agile, were able to run rings around the Russian fleet. However they sustained several early loses. However. chipping away at the amur of the Russians worked well and won the day. The Japanese lost 4 ships but the Russians also lost 4 ships and with only one battleship at left at the end of the game it was a victory for Japan!
Banzai!!!!
Next Monday we will be there again at club, this time returning to WW2 and yes, its time for the tanks!

Ah-ha!
On Monday we visited the Ukraine in summer 1944.
Our terrain was the rolling fields of wheat and sunflowers with a small village and windmill.
The Soviets played by Peter and Matt were equipped with a company of 10 T34/85 tanks, 4 KV1s (that's the fast version) and two platoons of infantry that travelled on the tanks. The Germans were played by Steven who had 6 Panther tanks, 4 Panzer IV/J tanks and a platoon of panzer grenadiers travelling in half tracks.
We diced to see when each unit would arrive on the table and the T34s arrived first, followed by the Panthers, then the KVs and lastly the Panzer IVs. The battle ebbed with the clash between the Panthers and T34s. The Soviets did well initially killing several panthers for a couple of losses. However what turned the game was the killing of the T34 command tank. This resulted in the surviving T34s turning tail and running. This allowed the remaining Panthers to assist the Panzer IVs in defeating the KVs.
A good game that led to a marginal victory for Germany!
Next week we are back in space to fight in the Star Wars universe!
