Very entertaining, shame about the small number of players, but good fun never the less.
I shall have to get myself some Tac Arms, and will be looking to play a bit more often now I think.

I didn't make it due to work. How many were there in the end and who won?

(now on the first outing with my new uber computer!!) well, it was a fun day, but we only had 4 players, and myself umpiring. Chris (from the WW club, I think) won, with David, and Maurice in joint second, and Steve bringing up the rear. I hope everyone found my scenarios stimulating, but not too difficult, they certainly seemed to be enjoying the day! I will maybe run some more next year, but as Carl is moving the smaller shop(maybe in a few weeks!) we will have to see as to where and how. Dave

Ah! Welcome, Chris wasn't it? Yes please feel free to come over. I suppose with Carl moving the shop soon, the WW club will be in a bit of bother for meetings, and games. Always welcome to join us of course! Dave

The new WW location is still in Cranfield, a bit further up the street. (not exactly sure myself as yet!). I have asked Carl to keep us informed so we can post it on here. I suspect he has found someone to take on his large premises, and has taken the opportunity to move, maybe with a view to moving to CMK later, I don't know. With the economic climate as it is, reducing overhead on shop costs is probably wise. The move is waiting on the usual legal stuff, but Carl hopes to be moved before Xmas. Dave

Firstly thanks to Dave for organising the day. 3 good games, and i now know the rules much better . Congratulations to Chris on winning - he wiped the floor with me until I hid in a building! Hopefully we can have another tournament early next year. Although Carl is moving to a smaller shop, the Monday night gaming group (we're not a club) will soldier on. The Cranfield University Social Club has apparently offered the use of a function room, for free if we drink enough beer! Just need to get my son through his driving test now ;D. Once we're settled in we'll look into where we can play tournaments on a Saturday. And please keep supporting Carl - where would we be without him?

Would you be sticking to Mondays?
I suspect one or two of us would come out for a game if it were on a different week night . . .

Current plan is for Monday. One advantage is the free room at the club as Monday is a quiet night (to such an extent that I heard that meals were £1 if you get there early!).

Coming over on a Monday is not really an option for us as it is a bit far but make sure you post the date for a future weekend tournament as we are always looking to play more games.

Floris, this thread relates to a tournie we ran a little while ago, at the Cranfield shop. As Carl , the owner, is reverting to his web based business he has closed his retail outlet. So the Cranfield group who based themselves at the shop were discussing where they were to hold meetings next, and still on a monday by all accounts. We have our main meetings on Mondays too, but have all day sunday meets from noon till 2230hrs on the 2nd Sunday in the month, so tommorrow, (11th Jan) is the first of 2009. We do sometimes reschedule sundays if it clashes with shows we attend. So keep an eye here if we announce as such. Dave
