On the matter of how to get the group together, I have the following suggestion:
Dwarven Cleric -"Aye me cullies, the God Razzamatazz has given me a sign. We shall march over yonder and crush the heathens."
Fighter & Paladin -"We follow thee, for Truth, Justice and unprovoked Mayhem and Destruction."
Ranger -"I know the land and will take you safely there."
Wizard -"I will spread the word of the God Razzamatazz and woe the ones who don't do as I command."
Warlock -"With my first-hand experience of selling my sou... I mean steading my soul, we shall quench the Darkness."
Rogues -"We are the Inquisition, with right to scare the crap out of you and knowledge about all the dark things that go bump in a dungeon. We can also get rid of unwanted subjects, permanently, all according to this table of fees of course."
;D

What? No Bard. It's not a real party without somebody singing about your heroic exploits. Go on Graham - you can be the bard. Assuming they still have such things.

What?
You expect a wizard to follow the orders of a priest? You expect a tiefling to follow the orders of a dwarf? You expect a tiefling wizard to follow the orders of a dwarf priest?
Surely, thus doth jest

As far as the Bard goes, ie NoWhere. Unfortunately no such occupation. But hey, look at a lot of people and celebrities these days, you don't even have to be able to carry a tune to become a performer, just as long as you're whole life circles around being famous (and Feared is an optional bonus...). ;D. Any halfdecent and preferably drunk so-called Hero can belt out a personal impression of My Way at half midnight at the local alcohol shop. Who needs Bards? The Swede.

Mike: Yet again on another thought. Let's face it, you're not exactly top-of-the-foodchain at Level 1, even the Kobolds are taking a Mickey out of you. Maybe bide your time until, let's say Level 10-15 and go:
-"FOOLS, I have duped and schemed these past 10 years to lull you all into my grasp, I was only pretending to follow your orders. The time has come now to make you all my slaves, and tomorrow the world." Insert manical laugh of your choise here.
-"We know Lord Magus, and so have we all prepared for this day." The other characters in unison.
-"Oh Darn, didn't think about that though..."
A bit iffy with one against many of the same power level.
Hmm, my plan has backfired. Well, time to go back to the drawing board.
Just kidding. I trust we all can work out something plausible alongside with Maurice on the relations between the characters in the end.

Obviously in the absence of a party accountant character class I would have opted to be a bard again. But there are two problems...there are no bards in 4th ed and the party is to big so I may not get to play. I fear my singing may be the cause on both counts.
I only hope they take pity on me and instate the role of party accountant

Graham
No room for an accountant I'm afraid, but with mortality in D&D adventures being what they are, an actuary and some form of life assurance for party members wouldn't go amiss !
