I'm really looking forward to get this Behemoth of a group launched! Just look at this massive roster: A Dragonborn Paladin (John) A Tiefling Rogue (Ove) An Eldarin Rogue (Joe) A Dwarf Fighter (Chris) A Dwarf Cleric (Stephen) A Tiefling Wizard (Mike) A Warlock (Race Undecided) (David) An Elf Ranger (Martin) A Tiefling Warlock (Graham) A DM (Maurice) With all this diversity it should be fun to see who's brave (or something else...) enough to shoulder the responsibility as Skipper. ;D I think we should have a democratic (in the two Warlocks's case, demonic) vote about that. Logic decrees that either the Dwarven Cleric or the Dragonborn Paladin gets it, but anyone interested can apply. I decline on the simple fact that nobody does as I command anyway. The Swede.

And I don't think my dwarf fighter's people skills would be up to it!

While the Eladrin rogue naturally posses the required gravitas and authority to command the party, he cares far to little about their well-being to take on such a role.

I know Martyn registered my interest and as Graham has made his way into the group can you make way way for one more?

I don't mind who's the official Leader, as long as I know who to blame WHEN things go TU. ;D
Because it surely ain't going to be my fault.

Well no response from Maurice and a pending wedding means I won't be coming tomorrow - sorry Martyn. Without a definite game and a small mountain of red ribbon to tie (don't ask) I can't justify to higher authorities my absence.
Good luck all.

I seem to remember posting some comments regarding Tiefling Wizards and the likelyhoon of them taking orders from anybobt
Can't remember which thread it was in, but the gist was something like: 1) Tiefings are too independent too take orders from anybody 2) Wizards are too proud to take orders form anybody 3) Thus, your chances of ordering a Tiefing Wizards about are slim at best
Personally, I don't mind who the "official" leader is - I'm equally capable of ignore orders from anybody

This is how I see it going down:
Leader: "Hey team, I don't think we should attack the giant monster of doom because it's really big and spiky."
Team: "Good idea leader!"
Mike's Tiefling Wizard: "No way, I'm not doing what you say! Charge!!"
*Squash*
Team: "We need a new Wizard."

The way I see it, is despite all our differences (Race, Class, Alignment), we have to work together to overcome adversary. Only as a team will that work. And if someone is constantly doing their own "thing", they might become a liability to the group ie. a loose cannon.
If an order or suggestion seems reasonable and tactically sound, I don't have the slightest problem carrying them out, as the whole group will (hopefully) consequently benefit from it.
The point of the game is after all, as you've said yourself, to have fun together.

No Joe, you've got it all wrong (well, what else can you expect from an elf?)
Tieflings, and indeed wizards, are quite happy to fullow suggestions - if (and only if) said suggestions make sense
Tiefling wizards do NOT blindly follow orders - we're way too indepentent (not to mention way to clever) to fall for that one
Also, we're far too good at self-preservation to do anything as stupid as charging at the foe - we quite happy to leave that sort of thing to the fighter and rogue types (who are rarely known for their tactical sophistication anyway)

Ove
That's not a very 'rogueish' attitude ! Rogues are care-free, anti-establishment mavericks. Not the sort to subordinate their well-being to that of the group !

Isn't it fun to break the mould now and again...? Belonging to this or that class doesn't necessarily mean that you can't have a personality other than X or Y that's been soooo stereotyped over and over again in fiction?Ie, you're the best and strongest warrior around, honour and courage but a heart of gold etc. BORING, to be Stereotype 1A.
In other words Martyn, I certainly don't agree with your viewpoint. The primary reason why I play RPG's is the word ROLE in it, having a personality, making the character live etc.
