I know you Brits are more than fond of criminal dramas, Midsummer Murders, A touch of Frost etc. but tonight (Sunday) they screen a Swedish one, called Wallander. Played by Kenneth Branagh, on BBC 1 at 9.
About 10 years ago they made a swedish series with swedish actors, pretty good. But I can see from a certain point of view that that might not cut it over here ;D ;D

I can see from a certain point of view that that might not cut it over here ;D ;D The Swede. That's because you foreigners simply refuse the speak a proper language ;D ;D I mean, it's not as if English is difficult - even Americans manage to learn it (well nearly) ;D ;D Joking aside - yep, caught that A fine exaple of the genre, but perhaps a little predictable (it took my about 5 muns to spot the connection between the girl's suicide and politician's murder) A pleasurable hour-and-half's vegging out nonetheless

It's not that we refuse to speak English, in fact we learn it from infancy so we can infiltrate foreign nations and subvert them from the inside, my infiltration doesn't go to well I'm afraid. ;D ;D
In all fairness, which "cop show" these days aren't predictable? Did you think it was the boy that did it though? I like the character of Wallander, have read a few of the books, in Swedish of course! He's such a regular guy and not really the stereotype of a detective (ie divorced and alcoholic).
Kenneth Branagh was not a bad choice, but fun to see the Brits struggle with the pronounciation of the swedish names. ;D

I'd say your infiltration is going extremely badly. In fact, it's bordering on abject failure. If you want to infiltrate this country properly, you're gonna have to learn to speak proper - like wot we duz ;D ;D
And yes, I did guess it was the boy - about 2 seconds after the character was introduced Standard formular detective drama
But, as I said, a pleasurable hour-and-half's vegging out I'll definately be watching next week

I can always fall back on the explanation that I'm Welsh! As Brits have asked me six times within three years if I'm Welsh, the first ones husband was Welsh so she should know (or not) ;D Only drawback is that I'd have to learn Welsh as well, don't seem easy with all those lls and ws. The Swede.
