With people not turning up at work, trains not running and schools closing due to a bit of white "powder" on the ground called SNOW! I still hope that some brave souls will be able to make it to the club tonight. Where I come from we close down the country IF a blizzard hits us, not for a few measly flakes... The Swede, enjoying the weather.

England is very inept when it comes to snow.
When I lived in Canada it was -30°C but I was still expected to go to school!

Its not that we are soft or that the amount of snow has anything to do with it; the issue is a lack of common sense when it comes to Health and Safety. Schools closing and public transport stopping is more to do with worrying about getting sued because someone slips over on your premises or your bus goes off of the road than actual issues with opening or running a service because the volume of snow is so much. God knows what we will do if we ever have snow like the 60's and 70's again; from memory I only ever got sent home school once because of the snow; mind you that was deep enough to stop the buses. Rant over.

Not sure I'm going to make it tonight. Rather depends on whether it stops snowing. The roads around where I am are already pretty slippy and several hours more snow isn't going to improve matters.
I'm sure the A6 is probably fine, getting to there from my house could be the issue.

Well it's still snowing and the forecast appears for it to continue pretty much all night.
I really don't fancy driving all the way to Bedford in this just for a game of Warhammer.
I think I will have to postpone our game Matt. Can you let me know when you're next available. I can't do next week as I'm playing D&D, but otherwise I'm pretty much able to play whenever.

No worries - unlike Ove I don't have snow chains in the boot of the car. Irthlingborough council haven't stretched to clearing our road so I'd have fun and games getting out. As Mr Wilkin can testify I live at the bottom of a nice steep hill.

Yes Ove, must make you feel at home. We Brits still haven't got geared up for this, we think UK is a few hundred miles further south than it actually is I think!! Dave

Well, we made it nicely down to the club AND safely back in our abode again in a little Peugeout 106 without snowchains, don't see the problem... A few stalwart and brave souls showed up, John, Mike, Maurice, Peter (to collect the dosh only, but anyway) and a chap I don't know the name of. The Swede.
