SHIRTS
Quote from Dave - Shirts.. OK I get the objections. My thought was it advertises that we are PART of the GCN. the GCN is striving to become THE national body for ALL wargaming, not just GW games.
Guys - i dont want to offend - everyone has their valuable point to make on this subject. However, i want the T shirt to be our t shirt, our anniversary. I really cannot support the above Dave - they want to be the National Body of all Gamers? If that is trully the case, then good luck to them - but they wont represent me. PLease can we have a debate about this at the AGM? Dave, perhaps you could tell us on here when this, as i may have missed it.
CLUB OPEN DAY
Can we just make sure, before we get carried away that the downstairs area would be available to us on a Sunday? I ask this because the members of the North End Club seem to use the place quite a bit on a Sunday, and i cant see them allowing us to use their lounge.

Matt - i dont care who plays whatever game at our club, its a broad and open church. At the end of the day my objection is this - its a t shirt that celebrates our 35th anniversary - i dont see that that has got anything to do with GCN or any other organisation but OUR club.
Its just my view - and any of us are entitled to post their views on here or voice them at the AGM, which i think is an excellent forum for this type of discussion.

Personally the presence or lack of a GCN logo is of no concern to me, but it is clear that it is to some. At the least I suggest we leave the logo issue to the AGM as it is only a small part of the Gladiators 35th and we should be looking to discuss ideas for the rest.
As to a weekend event, anything that ensures plenty of gaming is a good idea in my books. Taking advantage of a full weekend to play some bigger games is something I'd like to do, but depending on others wishes I'm just as happy playing nearly anything.

I have already been in discussion with June (is that her name?) the NEC secretary, she is OK with the plan. I guess money is money at the end of the day, but we will not be using ALL the room, only 2/3 of it. Dave

Well, you may have noticed, my article is not in the March issue of WI...they did say PENCILED in, I suppose. Anyhoo, I have also been on the Old School Yahoo group, asking for our old members to participate in our big all day (weekend!)commemorative bash. I have had replies from John Preece, and Jim Shepard, aknowledging my request. Interestingly, Jim plays regularly in an old school maner with Hank, Big Jim, and our own Barry. They call themselves Clapham Corinthians. Jim tells me that it was indeed himself, and the late Peter Waddington who formed the club in 1974, confirmation from the proverbial horses mouth! It would be great if they could attend and put on adisplay of old skool gaming. Dave
