A much vented discussion under Board Games have put forward the pros/cons of buying games/ terrain etc. as a central part. My tuppence worth of input: 1) As one of these boardgamers I'm happy to buy my own games. Mostly on the principal that those are the ones I want to play and as someone mentioned, as a clubgame it's way too easy for stuff to go missing, rendering the game un-playable in the end. Do people actually play any of the games in the storage upstairs? 2) I seem to remember a discussion at the yearly meeting about cleaning up among the bits and bobs. Meaning throwing trash away and maybe get rid of "unwanted" items in the storage, and then have a look-see whether the club should buy replacement items. Also sorting out the storage. 3) I totally agree with the view to have terrain, buildings etc. for the minis stored at the club because it takes a lot of space and will be a right pain to have to transport it to/from the club every time. 4) I don't subscribe to lean for/against any of the "factions", after all, we're there because we like to play games, whatever type they might be and have fun (and escape the harsh reality for a couple of hours ). On a sidenote: We own a copy of Kingsburg and have never played Twilight Empirium but it looks complicated, I'd take Stephen Mawson's word for it and have a Long Sunday dedicated to it maybe. Anyway, that's my thoughts.

I concur with the sentiments Ove. We are Gamers, the diversity of the club has always been it's strength. Let us not veer away from the main nub of the discussion, Boardgames, to buy or not to buy. As an aside, John I think if we need more RPG "Scenery" it is no different to trees or tiles! Dave

David - i think your suggestion of buying a few games is very valid - we exist to play games and by broading what we can play we will get more interest, more people coming along and joining and growing as an orgaisation - something that you have encourgaed more than any of us. Lets just get on and buy a few games!
