Ask any of the lads, they will point him out...unfortunately the long saga of nightwork continues for me...7 weeks no club and counting. Still I hope to be at Kelmarsh with the Rushden lads this weekend. Dave Wilkin

Using Dark Angels insignia on Storm Angels: You are not obliged to change the colour at all. Perhaps Storm Angels have a closer affinity with their heritage as Dark Angels and so the insignia remains unchanged. If you really want to get away from the weapons restrictions of the Dark Angels codex but keep their 'look': I believe Cypher and the Fallen Angels who appear in the Chaos army list have exactly the same livery as Dark Angels and indeed they were once part of the chapter, but are now an elite successor faction- they are kitted out similarly to Chaos marine veterans. Perhaps the Storm Angels have a similarly identical look to Dark Angels but totally different backstory or weapons options picked from a different codex army list that reflects their new combat style: -vanilla marines (closer adherence to to the Index Astartes) -Black Templars (Crusading style forces) -Space Wolves (generally ferocious?) -or even, dare I say it- a Chaos marine chapter like the piratical Astral Claws <gasp> While whichever codex list you choose must be adhered to, the Storm Angels' livery, backstory, allegiance and so on is up to you and forms the living tissue enveloping the bare skeleton of the codex rules.

The only thing I'd say about using the Chaos Marine list is that it completely alters a lot of the weapons that your units are equiped with. Terminators don't have Storm Bolters or Assault Cannons, but Twin Linked Bolters and Reaper Autocannons, etc.

Guys you have raised some interesting points there. I think i will speak to steve regards new decals etc and see what he says. I would like my chapter to be independent via symbols , that sort of thing but as a beginner i don't want to get too embroiled in making up a whole background etc. I think i will as i have 1 now stick with the Dark Angels Codex and go from there.
