As it’s now only a little over a fortnight away from Phoenix’s next all day Saturday, which we have been looking to do a bit of interclub gaming with Phoenix’s members playing some games against some of the Gladiators, I could do with knowing exactly who is planning to attend.
We currently have two different things organised.
• A 40K Apocalypse Style Game with a Phoenix Team taking on a Bedford Team
Basically this is a 3,000 point per player affair, max 4 players a side.
As per the basic Apocalypse rules you don’t have to worry about the force organisation chart, just bring down whatever units you feel like (so 3,000 points of just Tanks for example is fine). If you have any Super Heavy vehicles those are also fine. What army you are taking doesn’t matter.
We’re not worrying about the stratagems however as this takes time to sort out unless plenty of people have access to the Apocalypse rule book.
I know we had a bunch of people who said they were interesting in taking part in this game, so from the Bedford side I just need to know how many people are planning to come down, so I can make sure the sides balance.
• A Warhammer Mini Tournament
I know there has been a bit of discussion over a Legendary Battles game vs a series of one on one games. That seems to have stalled so on grounds of simplicity I’m suggesting we run a one on one mini tournament.
This is going to be pretty straightforward, play a series of three 1,500 point Warhammer games against the Phoenix members (it’s 1,500 points rather than 2,000 so that we have time to actually get three games finished).
There may even be a small prize or certificate for the best players from each club.
Again I need to know who from the Bedford side of things is interested in taking part in this so I can make sure we’ve got enough numbers to make this work.
This will be taking place at the Scout Hall in Rushden (which is where Phoenix meets) on the 31st of October from 10am to 5pm. There are directions available on how to get to the scout hall on Phoenix’s Website. www.phoenixgaming.wordpress.com
In order to cover the cost of the hire of the hall there will have to be a small charge for all players. Our usual rate for these Saturdays is £4, but if the attendance is going to be high this may be able to be reduced to just £3.
Please could anyone who is thinking about taking part let me know, ideally by the end of next week 24th of October so I sort out the final arrangements.
Thanks
Stephen
