Just thought this bit of the forum looked a tad lonely ! We do play ACW occasionally, honest, I've seen it with me own eyes !

well, people like Essex, or Old Glory15's, or anynumber of the main 15mm manufacturershave ACW lines...peter pig. As for a bargain, bring & buy at shows? If you wanted to do it in 25/28mm (you could still use F&F just bigger bases) the Perry'shave some plastics available, good quality. the troops and cavalry are in plastic, with generals and artillery etc, in lead. In 15mm I would definitely recommend Peter Pig. Their ragged Confederates are great... patches in their trousers, holes in their boots, big shaggy beards etc. They even have a figure of a soldier dropping his trousers and mooning at the enemy - a must for any ACW firing line !!!

For 15mm I would recommend that you have a look at the Old Glory range; when I started they used to do bags of 100 figures some of which came with command figures; for example Hoods Texans or for the Union the Iron Brigade. I have used Essex for cavalry and higher command figures. For Artillery I used Dixons (can anyone remember who took this range over); there are still plenty of other 15mm manufactures around.
