If there's room I'd be interested as well. On a side note, the Imperial Fists are included in the expansion, I believe. It might be easy to adapt those rules for Crimson Fists characters.

So, we have Maurice, Chris, John, Stephen M, and Mike(954). Anyone else now can go on the reserve list (cor, how officious does that sound ?!).
I have the Rites of Battle expansion and that does indeed include the Imperial Fists and a section on creating your own chapters. I am quite happy to include successor chapters with the stats and rules of their 'parent' chapter, or mix and match some elements from the creating your own chapter section to differentiate the successor chapter a wee bit. So you could play as a Crimson Fist with the IF stats or with tweaked stats. As some of you know I play Eagle Warriors on the table, so i would just use the Ultramarines rules as EW are UM successors.
Sorry to have gone quiet, but have been on holiday in Devon for a week, and yesterday just had to stay in and watch the second part of Game of Thrones on Sky Atlantic (George R. R. Martin is a God of the Fantasy genre; i just wish he'd write a bit quicker - I've been waiting for the 5th book for about 5 years now!!) as I can't see the repeat on Wednesday this week. Should be at the club this coming Monday, though. Any of you who are there on Monday, we can have a chat and agree a provisional time-table for kicking off the campaign.

Hi Martyn,
I'll be down on Monday. I'm giving Mike(954) a game of Warmachine, but as we're both interested in Deathwatch I'm sure we could discuss that as well.
Hope you had a good time on holiday.

Ditto John's remarks, and at the risk of going off-topic a little, perhaps we could get your views on Game of Thrones on the night as well.
I am rather curious as to how that show has worked out so far. I do hope it's more than The Tudors with some fantasy trappings layered over it.

I'll probably go with Ultramarines. Although they are descendants of a different primarch; the Crimson Fists were founded from the more moderate members of the Imperial Fists. I now have the supplement with crimson fists in it

Mike
If you've read Game of Thrones then you just haveto watch the TV show to see what they've done with it. If you haven't read Game of Thrones then shame on you, it is 'historical' fantasy at its finest. Echoes of the Wars of the Roses, but not in an onerous or cliched way. I think the TV show so far is staying quite faithful to the book... could lose viewers doing that as its a slow starter. Not as slow as Fellowship of the Ring, but still quite slow.
Rites of battle expansion has specific rules for Crimson Fists; basically Imperial Fists with a few tweaks.

Having thought about it a wee bit, I think that the create your own chapter rules are a bit unnecessary at this stage, so am prepared to accept player characters from the following chapters:
Black Templars Blood Angels Dark Angels Ultramarines Space Wolves Storm Wardens Imperial Fists Novamarines White consuls Black Consuls Mortifactors Genesis Chapter Consecrators Angels of Redemption Angels of Absolution Flesh Tearers Lamenters Blood Drinkers Knights of Blood Crimson Fists Hammers of Dorn Subjugators
Specialities available are:
Apothecary Assault Marine Devastator Marine Librarian Tactical Marine techmarine Black Shield Champion Chaplain Dreadnought (yes, a dreadnought !!! How cool is that ??!!) Epistolary Forge Master Keeper Kill-Marine Watch captain First Company Veteran
I would like each player to provide two models; one painted in the livery of your chosen parent chapter, and one in the livery of the Deathwatch. During the game your character can be in solo mode or squad mode. We can use the figures painted in chapter colours to show characters in solo mode, and the Deathwatch ones for squad mode.

After having a look over the expansion last night, I'd quite like to play a Crimson Fist Tactical Marine. If a lot of other people want to play Imperial Fists (or descendants) I'd be happy to do a Black Shield.

I will go with Flesh Tearers for choice of chapter and Assault Marine/First Company (Vanguard) Veteran for choice of speciality, please. Edit 2: In fact any class that an assault marine mini will fit with is fine by me (Kill marine? Keeper? Black Shield?) Edit: I thought I'd add an image of the GW Deathwatch bitz set in case anyone is interested in sharing the cost (£15.50) of ordering them and splitting the set. There are enough parts to modify ten marines. That works out to £1.55 per set of bitz to convert a marine. i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb249/NotchedSpear/Deathwatchbitz.jpg

Mike,
Maurice was looking at ordering some, and I'd said I'd like to pay for some of them. If he still intends to then I'm sure he can get some for you as well...

Sorted, I do remember Maurice mentioning it and saying I'd be interested too. I just thought I'd throw some info up for those who may not have heard the conversation. I actually looked at painting up the Inquisitor SM model Brother Artemis as I have really wanted to take on the challenge of a large scale model, but balked at the price of those bad boys, £20.50 each! Edit: I just picked up a SM Assault Squad box, this seemed to be the easiest starting point for modding as Deathwatch marines. I'm looking forward to painting these guys up as Flesh Tearers with Deathwatch honours and one Deathwatch marine. Who knows, it could be the start of a 1500pt Flesh Tearer project! Edit 2: I have made a solid start to the Flesh Tearers. I've freehanded the Chapter insignia which was oddly satisfying given the results are sort of average. Put me down for 5 deathwatch shoulder pads please!

Hi guys, I took a (poor) snap of my WIP Deathwatch Flesh Tearers. Four of them are painted up as "Deathwatch honours" and one is painted up as on secondment to Deathwatch. I'd love to see anyone else's modelling projects for Deathwatch as well. Well here's the snap, you'll be disappointed if you're expecting godly painting skills, this is more by way of getting into the spirit of things. i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb249/NotchedSpear/DeathwatchFleshTearersMarines.jpgI will need 5 Deathwatch pads for these guys but I don't want to crowd anyone out by hogging the pads, so am quite happy to get some myself if necessary. Edit: In case you were wondering, the chaps I'll be using for Squad and Solo modes in the RPG are the guy first from left and third from left in the photo.
