Update – party treasure

Last session's punch up netted us the following:

• Horn of Judgement - value 15,000 gp
• 12 x Masterwork Shortswords - value 310 gp each = 3,720 gp
• 4 x Carnelian - value 25 gp each = 100 gp
• 326 gp

So, we now have 2,026 gp in cash plus the assorted goodies listed above

Unless anybody particularly wants a MW shortsword, I suggest we flog these in the next town we come across
That should net us another 1,860 gp


On the down side – two party members suffered permanent Dex drain from our demonic foes
A full Restoration spell is required to heal this – this is a level 4 cleric or paladin spell
Therefore we need to find a level 9 cleric

The cost for this is Caster level x Spell level x 10 gp = 9 x 5 x 10 = 450 gp per spell
Plus 100 gp worth of diamond dust
For a total cost of 1,100 gp for two castings

We can comfortably afford this (assuming, of course, we can find a source of diamond dust)

Thanks Mike - really useful having someone keep track of this.

I make it caster level 7 spell level 4 so 7x4x10 which is 280 plus diamond dust.

Either way should be affordable!

On the contrary, Diamonds are fairly easy to break. Top of the hardness scale, but that's not the same as fracturability. My grandad used to make steel bearings at Hoffmans & they were once asked to make diamond ball bearings for an Arab Sheik's Gold Rolls Royce (I kid you not) they experimented, but the diamonds would just grind down to nothing very quickly, steel is better as it's more flexible & can be squashed....

So with a lump hammer, some grindstones & a face mask (H&S At Work) we should be able to knock some up in a weekend or 2 (Assuming we have the raw ingredients of course!!).

Takes me back to my first job working in a civil engineering lab, we tested all sorts of rocks, minerals and concrete etc. for hardness. It takes very little to turn them all into dust, even something as simple as freezing and thawing or a little heat. Of course the fun is in using large machines to crush concrete.

She was approached around the time the priestesses heard of the Oracles death and was tasked to travel to the north and find out what was causing the shortening days - the temple oracle had a prophetic dream.

If that gives you enough to level up, you'll need to wait until you've finished off your remaining opponent before you do that.
