There will be plenty of tables and missions to choose from so I'm sure you and your opponent will find one that you are both happy with.
For example there is one Frostbite table for those who want to try the Frostbite Weather rules. But if you don't want to use the extra rules nobody is going to argue.
The Monthly Events at Phoenix Games in Leicester are to have fun and so far everybody attending (we also play every week Thursday nights) has always taken a "loose" aproach to the rules.
Since Frostbite the split is as follows:
Assault / Reserves
The Assault part shows the maximum AP you can spend. Below that number you can spend as many or little points as you like.
The Reserves part is where the remaining points go.
So for the Sunday February 22nd at Phoenix Games the rules are: Total army: 1600 Assault Maximum: 1100 Reserves: Remaining points
I hope that explains it better.

Yes, Steve,Unless the scenario requires the force to be split, with reserves activated by gaining objectives, or some other mechanism for aquiring RP's Dave

Interesting stuff. Thanks for the link.
It looks like your next meeting clashes with our April all-day Sunday. That might reduce your punters by 2.

Had a quick look at the link and the review of the last meeting; Oh dear! I see normal service has returned then Dave? I wont make the April Sunday either as I should be on a boat in the Med somewhere near Corsica I think.

Bottom - you went from Winning to Bottom Dave - totally believable. If letting down the club down a tad I feel!

I think the Baal Golgoth was a risk and if Dave uses it differently next time he will be ok. Seeing that the Baal will atract a lot of fire it can be used as a distraction from the rest of your force who can then focus on taking and holding objectives. The Baal Golgoth can also be used as mobile cover for an infantry unit to move forward. I might be wrong and this is what Dave did on the day, otherwise something worth thinking about. If anybody wants to play the missions that are used during the Monthly events in Leicester then just get them from the dedicated UK at-43 website.

Yes it was a bit of an experiment.which was widely known to my opponents too, that didn't help! Yes the Baal does act as a mobile cover, but you need to move him sometimes to get a shot, and expose the troops behind who are covering a point scoring objective. I do tend to try some high risk stratagems that if they pan out are devastating, but if they go wrong, are a horor story! I will have to change my tactics next time, people have sussed the "create" and "Merge" routines! Dave

The other tactic with the Baal was to basically ignore it (whilst hiding from it as well) and try to make sure that it could only 'get at' one unit at a time, therby gaining vital VP each turn.

I picked myself a Baal up from Phoenix Games today and used it in a game straight away.
Used it against Ryan (the other therian player last Sunday). It was fun but the game took a while. We both created Hekats like they where going out of fashion and they soaked up most of the damage done.
Took 5 turns and 2 1/2 hours for me to get over the 20VP needed to win. (we did play with 2500APeach)

Yes the Baal is a bit like wealding a large club. Hurts if you hit something, but time consuming in geting it placed right! It will take some practice in perfecting this weapon! Dave

To ensure the AT-43 Event in Leicester does not clash with the Bedford Gladiators All Day Gaming Sunday the next Monthly AT-43 Event has been moved.
Next event will be on Sunday May 31st First game at 11.30am 1800AP (1200 / 600 AP split)
