On Sunday the 28th of June the next AT-43 Monthly Event will take place in Leicester.
Instead of a three round tournament we will be having a mega battle.
All the normal rules for AT-43 apply with the following:
ARMY SELECTION You choose your army from any of the army lists from the AT-43 army books up to the agreed points value (2500ap). There is no need for a split between Assault and Reinforcements.
REINFORCEMENTS When a unit is destroyed you can sacrifice 1 victory point for every 100ap (rounding up) to put the unit in reserve for the next round.
Units in reserve can enter the battlefield trough any droppoint you control. The unit can move as normal and be given Take Cover but can make no other actions unless it has Assisted Propulsion in that case the unit can activate as normal.
DEPLOYMENT AT THE START OF THE GAME At the start of the game each player will be assigned a base droppoint (you can make your own base droppoint marker if you want. It has to fit on a base no larger than 4cm.). Your units will enter the battlefield within 10cm of this base droppoint upon their first activation. A unit deployed this way can activate normally and does not count as moving unless a movement action is announced.
AUTHORITY At the start of every round all players roll for authority in the normal manner. The highest scoring player can choose to activate the first or last that round. The second highest scoring player chooses to go clockwise or counter-clockwise that round.
Players can ask others to “Support their Authority”. The players who Support are given 2LP each from the Authority Gaining player and they don't roll for Authority that round. The Authority Gaining player adds +2 to the dice roll for Authority for each supporting player.
BATTLEFIELD RULES Below are some basic rules that apply to the battlefield when playing BIG is Better AT-43 that differ from normal AT-43 games or that are normally not needed. * It is not possible to shoot at any target beyond range 10; * Overwatch fire is resolved in order of Authority for that round; * Locked shots can shoot at any target on the table that the shooter can see or that has been tagged by another friendly unit; * If a unit has laser designators it can tag an opposing unit that is within range 10; * There is no need for a Delay Activation Order to initiate Double Activation. * Frontline players do not loose the game when all their vehicles are destroyed, instead the Red Blok player has to give 5 victory points to the player who destroyed the last AFV. * M.ind players do not loose the game when all their vehicles are destroyed, instead the UNA player has to give 5 victory points to the player who destroyed the last AFV.
VICTORY POINTS Apart from scoring victory points at the end of every round for each objective you control there are other ways to earn vp. These vp are given to the player the moment the criteria are met to earn them.
At the start of every round victory points can be traded with other players for LP. It will cost 5 vp to get 2LP from a player.
NEW ORDERS 4LP Triple Activation - Works just like Double Activation but for three cards instead of two.
2LP Reactivate - When a unit is about to activate you can opt to activate a unit that has already been activated that round. The unit that is reactivated can cost a maximum of 100ap more than the unit it replaces. The card for the unit you choose not to activate is turned over and does count as having been activated. A unit can only be reactivated once per round.
--------- There you have it, any questions just post them here and I will answer them as soon as possible.
The various objectives will be covered early next week.

We missed you lot today at the Monthly AT-43 Event in Leicester. We had a lot of fun during the BIG is Better game with Jon, myself, David Brown and Zoe walking away with some nice AT-43 prizes. I'll have pictures up on the site Monday evening. The next Event will be on Sunday the 23rd of August and we will be having the normal 3 game tournament format. We are having a holiday in July (weekly Thursday night games will still be on). Hope to see some Gladiators next time.

the pictures for the event last Sunday are now up on the dedicated UK AT-43 website. Don't worry Dave I had the feeling that was the reason when you posted you would have to miss out on Monday night this week.

Rackham had to delay the release of the army boxes. They are now being released on the 3rd of August. So well before the next tournament.
I wonder how many players will be fielding a Cog army on the day ;D

Stephen: Soft split means you can keep more than the minimum amount in reserve, you are still limited in what you can place on to start with. So if you were playing 1500/500 then 1400/600 would be ok but 1600/400 wouldn't for example.

Just a reminder and heads up.
The AT-43 Monthly in Leicester this sunday (11th October) is at the normal location (Phoenix Games).
This will be the last time we will use 1800ap armies. From the Championships onwards we will use 2000ap.
It is the Leicester Marathon on Sunday so there might be some delays getting to carparks in the morning.
