Mmmmm all good points. My LOTR dwarfs sold for £160, so taking off the £100 for my speeding fine I should have £40 to invest for the level 3 deal....of the bloke who won the auction ever gets round to paying me !!

WW3 next week. It is in my diary.

I too have done Level 3, went for the Enchanter as I like the "Nordic Look", and ordered an extra Necromancer for Carl....
Will be on tenterhooks until July now!!

Well, it all arrived on Monday, hopefully will have enough painted up for a game in a week or 2....
Rules seem quite simple, will be interesting to see how they play.

Yep, had a bit of a read through last night – looks simple enough on first glance
A quite like the way they alternate the activation phases in the turn: your wizard phase, my wizard phase your apprentice phase, my apprentice phase etc
Should allow players to react to what their opponents are doing
Already have more than enough 28mm figures to field are warband (or three) I'll try and get some of small army of wizards, apprentices, soldiers and other assorted stuff painted up anyway
Either way, definitely up for a trial game whenever you're ready

I wouldn't mind a quick shufti (I had to Google how to spell that) at the rules at some point. I'm only aware of the game because Kev Dallimore has been posting pictures of his paintwork on the various models that Northstar have produced.

Current situation is that next week's fortnightly roleplaying game is probably postponed on account of a certain garden ornament (don't worry, in joke) lazing around in the Pennines and therefore unable to attend
If that is the case, I'll bring it all along and we could have a try
In any case, I'll bring the rule book down and you can have a read through

Morgan
As promised, I'll bring the rules down tonight
I have also stated up two warbands, so we can give it a try if you like
Bit of a learning curve for me as the game has only just come out – I pre-ordered it, and I've had it for exactly seven days (as of about 6:30pm this evening when I get home from work)
See you tonight Mike

OK people
As this seems to have developed something of a head of steam, I suggest we dedicate an evening to giving it a serious try out
Provisionally I'm going to book this in for next Monday (27th July), unless anybody seriously objects
I suggest a basic warband each (level 0 wizard and 500 gc to buy an apprentice plus soldiers)
Anyone interested, please post here – just we have some idea of numbers (Martyn? Damon? Carl? Morgan? anyone else)
You will need is a few 28mm figures (somewhere between 5 and 10 depending on the make-up of your warband) of the medieval/ancient/fantasy type – painted please, or face an evening of merciless ribbing Although these is a plentiful supply for those who have none (I certainly have enough figures for three or four warbands – maybe more)
Two or three dice of the d20 variety, a tape measure (to measure move distances, shooting ranges, etc) and a copy of the rule book would also be useful, but again not essential as these are also available
Anyone interested?

Myself & the Snotling will be up for this, may need to borrow some of your warband types though as I can't promise that I'll have mine done by then....

Book me in for "watching and taking careful note". I can't quite justify spending money on new rules at the moment and I shouldn't distract myself from painting other projects. But I do want to see if it plays as nicely as it looks. (Also, long and tiring weekend coming up which may render me comatose on Monday evening :-) )
