Evening people,
I've been a little lax at posting updates here lately, so here's a big update of the outstanding items
Firstly -- All the stuff you found on the hobgoblins
2 suits of studded leather armour (+2) 2 suits of studded leather armour (+1) 20 suits if chainmail armour (+1) 1 suit of full plate arnour (+1) 1 suit of leather armour (large) 20 masterwork heavy wooden shields
2 longswords (+1) 2 greataxes (+1) 1 spiked chain (+1) 18 masterwork longswords 20 masterwork guisarmes 4 masterwork shortsword 2 flails (large)
22 masterwork longbow 1 masterwork light crossbow 440 arrows 10 crossbow bolts 4 javelins 4 javelins (large)
1 wand of cure serious wounds (5 charges) 2 potions of cure light wounds 2 potions of shield of faith
This lot if very heavy so you probably can't take it all, not now that you have lost your horses. You will have to decide amongst yourselves what you are taking and what you are leaving behind, and how you are carrying it all.
Finally -- the accumulated XP for the last few sessions
Encounter XP: 7,520 each Bonus story awards: 2,000 each
Added to your last total of 39,539 XP Giving you each a total of 49,059 XP
Which puts you only 2,000 XP short of level 8 So you might want to give that some thought

Firstly, the XP for druid and his half-orc concubines (which I've already given you verbally) Encounter XP: 2,800 each
Added to your last total of 49,059 XP Giving you each a total of 51,859 XP
Which is just enough to top level 8
And the XP for the undead hobgoblin socerer Encounter XP: 2,400 each
Added to the total above Giving you each a total of 54,259 XP

Thanks for another fun session Mike - hopefully we have dissuaded spies from setting up shop near Peaksdell for the moment! Looking at the xp total so far we must be very close to level 9 which is quite exciting. For Freya this will mean improved critical feat, better saves, more base attack and weapon training 2 so even more damage and accuracy I think that takes her basic power attack with her greatsword to +18/+13 to hit, 17-20 x2 crit, 2d6 +24 damage. Although part of me is always tempted to make sure I use a non fighter feat slot (odd numbered levels) for non combat feats while I have a chance so I might improve my saves further with improved iron will or great fortitude. Hmmmmm... choices. I might even put some more ranks into ride and maybe even some into handle animal now that Thrune has joined the party. Freya has traditionally not been great with animals (hence disappointment to her adopted sheep-farming father) but you can’t be good at everything. What does level 9 look like for Freya’s fellow adventurers? Quick question for Mike: do you have an idea to what level you plan to run the campaign? I know these things can often change quite quickly but I thought I’d ask for your best guess as it helps in making level up choices. (In my case it would help whether I bother going down the critical effect feat tree for example). - Many thanks

For Kirino level 9 will give her the Kinetic Whip wild talent, meaning she will then have a 10ft reach melee weapon that threatens all spaces, and that persists until the next round, so finally she can act as a flanking buddy for the other characters.
Also weapon finesse, so she'll be a bit more accurate in melee to.
Plus another damage bump for the blasts, they'll now be up to 5d6 damage.

Firstly, the remains of the fight – it's not going to last much longer
With the three leaders out of the fight (the swashbuckler is dead, the rogue is unconscious and the cleric getting eaten by acid), the four troops (those that are left) will surrender.
So, that leaves you with the following XP:-
Encounter XP: 5680 Added to your last total of 69,976 XP Giving you each a total of 75,686 XP
Which is, as correctly identified by Chris, sufficient for you to level up.
Secondly, there is the kit that each of them where using:-
Level 9 Cleric (possibly dead) MW Mace, +2 Light Crossbow, 10 bolts, +2 Breastplate, MW Heavy Steel Shield, Scroll of Summon Monster V
Level 9 Swashbuckler (dead) +1 Rapier, MW Dagger x3, +1 Chain Shirt, +1 Buckler, Potions (Cure Serious, Core Moderate, Cat's Grace, Invisibility, Resist Energy)
Level 9 Rogue (unconscious) +1 Short Sword, MW Dagger x3, +1 Chain Shirt, Bracers of Armour +1, Wand of Cure Moderate (15 charges), Wand of Magic Missile (level 5, 15 charges)
Level 8 Legionaries (x 4, one dead) MW Longsword, MW Full Plate, MW Heavy Steel Shield, Potion of Cure Serious Wound x2
How much of this you claim and how much gets given back largely dependent on your own sense of honour (but bear in mind that your chooses will get back to the Chelaxian high command)

We presumably therefore need to confiscate these items as a matter of public safety? If we begin talking kit in the week I’m away, Freya’s priority would be to try to upgrade her +2 great sword to a +3 - mainly because of it counting as cold iron if we have hordes of Chelaxian allies (ie devils or demons) potentially invading! Using a base cold iron great sword would be ok but suboptimal at this point. A WIS headband would probably also be great if possible.

As I understand it these people are spies, and are therefore themselves in Andoran illegally, and are attempting to undermine the lawful government. Plus also they tried to kill us.
Therefore in Kirino's view they don't get any of their stuff back.
Also I presume that these people will get turned over to the Andoran government, not just released.
On the grounds that I don't think any of the weapons or armour will be of real interest of any of the party I've gone ahead and worked out their sale price. Which comes to 16,385.5 GP
I'm assuming that we're keeping the Scroll, Potions, and Wands for our own personal use.
